Abstract
In this article a novel optical nondestructiue evaluation technique ba sed on real-time particle image velocimetry has been proposed for the single-cell contractile force measurement. The optical experimental se tup is described. Some preliminary experimental results on the measure d fluid velocity field and its potential application to the single-cel l contractile force measurement are presented.
