The specific character of the exploitation modes of the motorization o
f an electric vehicle for city use attaches considerable importance to
the choice of the drive-system control strategy, in so far as the ene
rgy consumption of the whole system is concerned. In particular, in hi
gh-performance vector-controlled asynchronous drive systems, the class
ically used flux-control strategies must be redefined, taking into acc
ount the special constraints linked first with the structure, then wit
h the mission of the electric vehicle. In this paper, the authors comp
are different flux-control strategies by considering their influence o
n the general performance of the vehicle. This comparison is based on
a simulation of the working of the whole system using the EASY 5X (Boe
ing Computer Services) system simulation software.
