Abstract
The reaction of 4-aminocoumarin with [hydroxy(tosyloxy)iodo]benzene af fords 4-amino-3-phenyliodoniocoumarin tosylate which upon basification is converted to the corresponding stable iodine-nitrogen 1,4-dipole. The reactivity of the latter is briefly discussed.
