V. Roussis et al., THE CYCLOADDITION OF DIETHYL CHLOROPHOSPHITE WITH NORBORNADIENE - SYNTHESIS AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF THE CYCLOADDUCT, Journal of heterocyclic chemistry, 33(3), 1996, pp. 979-981
In the presence of Lewis acids, diethyl phosphorochloridite reacts wit
h norbornadiene to afford the tetracyclic phosphinate ester 3. The rea
ction is believed to involve formation of phosphenium ions stabilized
only by alkoxy substituents. The cycloadduct of the reaction was chara
cterized by its spectral data, by single crystal diffraction analysis
of the parent acid, and P-31 and Al-27 nmr experiments.
