Abstract
Combined gas and steam turbine processes produce electric energy at hi gh efficiencies. The use of combined heat and power causes problems in so far the demand of heat and power varies. Consequently, systems are needed that enable with gas turbine plants the production of more elec tricity or more heat, respectively, according to demand by retaining t he high fuel utilization factor: the heat displacement systems. In thi s paper, the environmental aspects of the heat displacement systems as well as the emission problems of the gas turbine in variable recupera tive cycle processes are dealt with. It is shown that - due to the sug gested solution on - not only the highest possible efficiencies are ac hieved, but treated with consideration.
