Abstract
The development is described of the Monte Carlo (MC) method for the ca lculation of the thermoluminescence intensity when defect interactions are considered during the readout. Five simple cases in which differe nt types of reactions occur between defects were studied. Results obta ined using the MC method were in fair to good agreement with those obt ained using the Runge-Kutta (RK) method. The computer times for the MC and RK calculations were comparable and about 30 s to a little over a minute on a IBM PC/AT compatible computer based on the Intel 80486 pr ocessor (33 MHz).
