An improved antisymmetrized molecular dynamics model has been applied
to the study of the mass yield distribution for fragments of the C-12
+ Fe reaction at 135 MeV/nucleon. It is shown that the experimental da
ta are well reproduced by the theoretical calculation, especially for
the mass yield of light fragments. The stochastic splitting of the nuc
leon wave packet according to its diffusion predicted by Vlasov equati
on has drastic effect on the description of fragmentation process.
