Shr. Eslimyisfahany et al., RESPONSE OF A BENDING-TORSION COUPLED BEAM TO DETERMINISTIC AND RANDOM LOADS, Journal of sound and vibration, 195(2), 1996, pp. 267-283
The response of a beam coupled in bending and torsion to deterministic
and random loads is investigated by using the normal mode method. The
loading on the beam may be either concentrated or distributed over it
s length. The deterministic load is assumed to be varying harmonically
, whereas the random load is assumed to be Gaussian, having both stati
onary and ergodic properties. A general analytical theory is developed
, and is applied to a cantilever aircraft wing for which there is subs
tantial coupling between the bending and torsional modes of deformatio
n. Numerical results for the dynamic flexural and torsional displaceme
nts are presented and discussed. (C) 1995 Academic Press Limited
