A. Farina et al., ASSAY AND PURITY CONTROL OF NEW SEROTONERGIC ANXIOLYTICS BY HPTLC ANDSCANNING DENSITOMETRY, JPC. Journal of planar chromatography, modern TLC, 9(3), 1996, pp. 185-188
A high-performance thin layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method with dens
itometric UV detection has been used for the determination and purity
control of new serotonergic anxiolytics. With silica gel as adsorbent
and three different mobile phases all the potential impurities are wel
l separated from the main components and from each other. Detection li
mits of a few nanograms were obtained at a signal-to-noise ratio 3:1,
The relative standard deviation values for the main components and rel
ated impurities were between 2.2 and 3.4%, The results obtained were c
ompared with those obtained by a previously established HPLC method.
