A new simple, precise, rapid, and selective HPTLC method has been deve
loped for simultaneous determination of norfloxacin and tinidozole in
pharmaceutical formulations, The stationary phase was silica gel 60 F-
254 prewashed with ammoniacal methanol; n-butanol - ethyl alcohol - 12
.5% ammonia (4 + 1 + 2.2, v/v) was used as mobile phase. Detection and
quantification were performed densitometrically at lambda = 293 nm, T
he linearity ranges were 10-200 ng and 15-300 ng for norfloxacin and t
inidazole, respectively; the respective percentage recoveries were 99.
94% and 100.13%.
