DETERMINATION OF 1,4-BENZODIAZEPINES BY QUANTITATIVE TLC - A REGRESSION STUDY EMPLOYING THE LADDER OF POWER

A quantitative TLC method utilizing plates containing fluorescent indi cator has been developed for the determination of some 1,4-benzodiazep ines in pharmaceutical formulations, Three methods for calculation of calibration curves on the basis of the 'ladder of power' were compared with the ordinary linear regression equation, By these procedures the values of the calibration curves for diazepam and oxazepam were repre sented more closely than by the normal method of least squares. The la st method was, however, most suitable for the determination of chlordi azepoxide, in terms of both precision and accuracy.
