Emission spectra of the a(1)a Delta-->X(3) Sigma(-) transitions of AsH
and AsD have been observed in the near-infrared spectral region near
1.39 mu m. The arsenic hydride radicals were generated and excited in
a fast-flow system by reaction of arsenic vapor with hydrogen or deute
rium atoms. The NIR chemiluminescence was measured with a Fourier-tran
sform spectrometer equipped with a sensitive germanium detector. Analy
ses of the bands have yielded the following spectroscopic constants fo
r the a(1) Delta state of AsH (in cm(-1)), where the numbers in parent
heses are the standard deviations of the parameters: T-e=7216.84(12),
omega(e)=2179.77(20), omega(e)x(e)=37.69(7), B-e=7.3297(9), and D-e=0.
