Pa. Dokhale et Vn. Bhoraskar, STANDARDIZATION OF PROCESS PARAMETERS FOR A CHEMICAL-REACTION USING NEUTRON-ACTIVATION ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE, Measurement science & technology, 7(8), 1996, pp. 1174-1178
The chemical process to convert polyepichlorohydrin (PECH) into a glyc
idyl azide polymer (GAP) has been standardized by measuring the relati
ve concentrations of nitrogen, chlorine and oxygen with the fast neutr
on activation analysis technique. For comparison PECH and GAP samples
were also analysed by IR spectroscopy. The results indicate that, for
standardization of the present chemical process, the fast neutron acti
vation analysis technique is superior to IR spectroscopy. In this pape
r the techniques used to analyse the samples are described in detail b
ut the information on the actual chemical process adopted is provided
in brief.
