Abstract
This paper is devoted to the O(3, 1) nonlinear sigma-model, which has been proposed previously by the author. This model, which has been sho wn to be closely connected with the Ablowitz-Ladik hierarchy, is now c onsidered in the framework of the inverse scattering method. In this p aper the problem is presented in the zero-curvature form, which is use d to obtain the infinite sequence of the conservation laws and to deve lop the inverse scattering transform for the case of the non-vanishing boundary conditions.
