Two new techniques are proposed for DOA estimation of wide-band signal
s in the presence of spatially correlated noise field with unknown cov
ariance matrix. These techniques do not require any a priori knowledge
of the DOAs. These methods will cancel out uncorrelated singleton sig
nals, but in a realistic passive sonar multipath scenario, there will
be uncorrelated groups of correlated signals. The algorithms are appli
cable in such a scenario. Simulation results comparing the performance
of these algorithms with those of CSM-MUSIC algorithm are also presen
ted.
