Se. Kaba et al., RESOLUTION OF RECURRENT MALIGNANT GANGLIOGLIOMA AFTER TREATMENT WITH CIS-RETINOIC ACID, Journal of neuro-oncology, 30(1), 1996, pp. 55-60
Ganglioglioma is an uncommon brain tumor with glial and neuronal cellu
lar components and a somewhat benign course. We are presenting an unus
ual case of ganglioglioma with malignant transformation in both cellul
ar components associated with an aggressive clinical course. An almost
complete resolution of the recurrent progressing tumor was achieved a
fter treatment with cis-retinoic acid (cRA) as a single agent. A possi
ble differential effect of cRA on the neuronal component of the tumor
is suggested.
