Vt. Borisov et al., ON THEORY OF THE MODIFICATION OF ALLOYS WITH ULTRA-FINE POWDERS OF REFRACTORY COMPOUNDS, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (3), 1996, pp. 30-36
A mathematical model of the behavior of the refractory-compound powder
panicles in overheated melt is suggested. The obtained analytical sol
ution to the problem of quasi-steady diffusion of the compound compone
nts in melt allow one to calculate the rime for the complete dissoluti
on of the particle. In addition. the conditions when the solidificatio
n on particles begins before the solidification of the basic alloy. i.
e.. at temperatures above the liquidus temperature of the alloy are es
tablished. The relationships describing the growth of solid phase on p
anicles and permitting one to determine the conditions of the formatio
n either of globular structure or of mixed structure are obtained.
