In. Fridlyander et al., EFFECTS OF HEAT-TREATMENT ON TEXTURE AND MORPHOLOGY OF PHASES IN EXTRUDED THIN PROFILE OF 1420 ALLOY AND ON ITS MECHANICAL-PROPERTIES, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (3), 1996, pp. 94-99
Textures of matrix and precipitated delta' phases in the 1420-alloy ex
truded profile 2 mm in thickness were studied after quenching from 450
degrees C and aging at 120 degrees C for 1, 6, and 12 h by the X-ray
diffractometric method of the construction trf direct pole figures. Th
e Extent of the phase coherency was estimated as a function of aging t
ime by a comparative analysis of the phase textures. A decrease in the
rate of the strengthening of the alloy at an early stage of aging is
attributed to the Loss in phase coherency at this stage.
