Abstract
DTA, X-ray diffraction analysis and metallographic study were used to construct the pseudobinary sections and projection of the liquidus sur face of the Al - Mg - PrAl2 system. In the region under study. the bin ary (e(1) - e(10)) and ternary (E(1) - E(5)) eutectic and peritectic ( P-1) points are established. The melting temperature (803 K) of the ne w ternary compound lambda(1) (Al2Mg0 88Pr0 12) was determined.
