The crystal and molecular structure of [Cu(tedpa)(2)](PF6)(2) have bee
n determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The compound is built up of
cationic [Cu(tedpa)(2)](2+) and PF6- groups. The coordination geometr
y about the copper atom can be described as an elongated and strongly
distorted octahedron (CuN2O3O' chromophore). The EPR powder spectrum i
s slightly orthorhombic and from the g values and the partially resolv
ed hyperfine components some covalency and molecular parameters have b
een estimated. EPR single crystal experiments indicate that the g-tens
or axes follow the molecular bonds. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Scienc
