Abstract
A Y-junction multiquantum well waveguide device using carrier-induced nonlinearities has been tested for all-optical switching. Ultrafast sw itching is achieved using two consecutive control pulses to turn the d evice on and off. A switch contrast ratio of 1:2 has been achieved wit hin a switching window of 10ps.
