Abstract
This article discusses the uses and complications of artificial ventil ation and the diagnosis and management of renal dysfunction in the tra uma patient. An approach to ventilator management based on minimizing toxicity is presented. Advanced methods of ventilatory support are sum marized. The advantages, disadvantages, and methods of various renal r eplacement therapies are summarized.
