The low-lying levels of the odd-mass nuclei Ce-131 and Ce-129 have bee
n investigated by means of the beta(+)/EC decays of Pr-131g+m and Pr-1
29, respectively, The Pr nuclei were obtained by bombarding Mo-94,Mo-9
6 targets with a 255 MeV Ca-40 beam, The radioactivities produced in t
he reactions were transported with a He-jet device and gamma gamma t,
X gamma t, e(-)gamma t coincidence measurements were performed. Conver
sion electrons were measured with a magnetic spectrometer and transiti
on multipolarities were deduced, On-line mass separation was used to s
elect the Pr-129 beta-decay. The resulting level schemes of Ce-131,Ce-
129,Ce-127 are discussed in connection with level systematics and calc
ulations performed by using the Interacting Boson-Fermion Model (IBFM)
.
