Abstract
The scattering of polarized Li-7 by Pb-208 in a wide range of energies around the Coulomb barrier is described using double-folding potentia ls and the dispersion relations. The effect of the dipole polarizabili ty of Li-7 is also discussed using energy-dependent polarization poten tials acid the adiabatic approximation. These calculations reproduce a dequately the experimental data, and provide useful information about the specific reaction channels responsible for the peculiar threshold anomaly exhibited by this system.
