Abstract
Surveys containing a measurement of acceptance of rape myths were mail ed to 310 prosecuting attorneys from 87 counties in Ohio. Among the 18 2 (58.7%) participants who responded, self-reported acceptance of rape myths was low. Males endorsed rape myths more strongly than females, but the sex differences were small in magnitude. No demographic variab les were significant in predicting the acceptance of rape myths in a r egression analysis. The current findings are informative because they provide the only direct measure of prosecutors' attitudes towards rape victims that have been reported in the past 15 years.
