Ad. Virnik et al., STUDY OF THE INTERPOLYELECTROLYTE REACTIONS BETWEEN CELLULOSE GRAFT-COPOLYMERS CONTAINING ACIDIC GROUPS AND ANTIMICROBIAL POLYCATIONS, Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 30(1-2), 1996, pp. 39-47
Interpolymer reactions involving antimicrobial polycations (polyhexame
thyleneguanidine and polydimethyldiallylammonium) and differently stru
ctured cellulose graft copolymers containing acidic groups were studie
d in order to determine the principles of developing antimicrobial cel
lulose fibrous materials with controlled properties. It was found that
the kinetics of the interpolymer reaction, the composition and proper
ties of the resulting polyelectrolyte complexes depend heavily on the
structure of antimicrobial polycation and that of cellulose graft poly
anion.
