V. Masura, A LINEAR LOGARITHMIC RELATIONSHIP OF YIELD VS KAPPA-NUMBER AND YIELD VS LIGNIN CONTENT FOR SULFITE, KRAFT AND SODA PULPS, Cellulose Chemistry and Technology, 30(1-2), 1996, pp. 81-94
The relationship between yield and kappa number and/or lignin content
of pulps prepared by acid Mg-sulphite, acid Ca-sulphite, magnefite, kr
aft and soda pulping of Norway spruce and beech woods was studied. The
relation of the yield on kappa number or lignin content can be expres
sed by logarithmic straight-line equations or power equations. A set o
f power equations characterizing the relationship yield vs. kappa numb
er and/or lignin content in pulp prepared by the studied delignificati
on procedures is given. A method of mathematical and graphical lineari
zation used for deriving the relationship yield vs. kappa number and/o
r lignin content is suitable for the evaluation of a set of significan
tly scattered experimental data.
