Abstract
This article reports the results of a 1993 study of 144 social workers and other health professionals (who perform discharge planning functi ons) in short-term medical treatment settings, Due to numerous unplann ed therapeutic terminations common in these facilities, an overall cor relation between therapeutic termination issues and worker job satisfa ction was preformed, A positive relationship between these two variabl es was found and the specific factors which constitute these variables were further explored, The results are discussed in relation to the p otential implications this may have regarding overall job satisfaction for medical social workers. Recommendations for addressing these fact ors are suggested.
