Abstract
The integrated intensity of the O-H Raman stretching band of crystalli ne beta-cyclodextrin hydrate exhibits a linear response to variations of ambient humidity for humidities > 15% and varies with temperature i n a similar way as the sample thermogram; it is used to monitor, in re al time, the hydration and dehydration processes which follow approxim ately first-order kinetics.
