Abstract
Transient [PhP-->W(CO)(5)], as generated from the appropriate 7-phosph anorbornadiene precursor, reacts at 120 degrees C with various enoliza ble ketones or beta-diketones to give the products resulting from the insertion of phosphorus into either the alpha-CH, the enol OH, or the acyl-CH2 bonds.
