Equimolar mixtures of AlMe(3), Bu(t)OK, and pmdeta produce either titl e compound depending on whether solvent-free, dimeric [(AlMe(3))(2)] o r the amine-solvated monomer [Me(3)Al .(H)N(CH(2)Ph)(2)] is used as th e source of the alane.
