Aj. Figueroa et al., XANTHOGRANULOMATOUS PYELONEPHRITIS IN A PREGNANT WOMAN - A CASE-REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, Urology, 48(2), 1996, pp. 294-297
We report a rare case of a 24-year-old woman who presented during her
second trimester of pregnancy with a presumptive diagnosis of right-si
ded xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGP). Despite attempted conser
vative management, the patient ultimately required a right nephrectomy
without complications to either the patient or fetus. Pathology confi
rmed the diagnosis of XGP of the right kidney. Herein, we present a ca
se report and a review of the literature concerning XGP and pregnancy.
