Giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma is a rare clinicopathologic e
ntity characterized by benign histology and the ability to enlarge mas
sively, The lesion may arise from the prostate gland either in continu
ity with the prostatic urethra or separate from it, or it may arise as
a lesion distinct from the prostate gland. Obstructive voiding sympto
ms occur in all reported cases. The use of preoperative radiographic e
valuation, such as magnetic resonance imaging, effectively defines the
lesion's benign nature and aids in planning surgical extirpation.
