Iil. Cunha et Rm. Deoliveira, PHOSPHORUS DETERMINATION IN MILK AND BONE SAMPLES BY NEUTRON-ACTIVATION ANALYSIS, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 213(3), 1996, pp. 185-192
The determination of phosphorus in milk and bone samples by both radio
chemical and instrumental neutron activation analysis is described. Th
e radiochemical method consists of thermal neutron irradiation of samp
les and standards, sample dissolution, phosphorus precipitation as amm
onium phosphomolybdate, use of zinc holdback carrier and counting of t
he phosphorus-32 beta-activity. The instrumental method involves therm
al neutron irradiation of samples and standards, waiting for a decay t
ime and beta-counting. The methods were applied to commercial samples
and reference materials.
