Abstract
This study has evaluated the use of electronic portal imaging (EPI) as a replacement for megavoltage verification films in the treatment of conformal pelvic patients. The two methods of imaging have been compar ed in 40 patients. Several advantages of EPI were identified, includin g ease of image acquisition, regular assessment of reproducibility of set-up and the possibility of on-line intervention when necessary. The findings suggest that EPI is a suitable replacement for films.
