A deprotonation. reaction of Cp(2)Ti(SH)(2) with NaH in THF yields {Na
-2[CpTi(mu-S)(S)](2) . 4THF}(2), generated by unexpected elimination o
f CpH. This anionic dimer is unique in that it is the first organomtal
lic titanium species containing terminal sulfido ligands. The latter a
re stabilized by interactions with THF-solvated sodium cations, thus i
mposing a syn Ti=S configuration.
