Abstract
The paper presents a German adaptation of the Rosenberg Self Esteem Sc ale and findings on its reliability, validity, and stability obtained from three different samples. The psychometric properties of the scale were satisfactory. Initial findings on criterion and convergent valid ity were positive. Stability analyses showed that self-esteem had a co mparatively high positional stability and that the instrument was not very sensitive to situational variations.
