Abstract
Petrological and geochemical studies of scapolite-bearing from the Yao unde area (Cameroon), show that they originate from older evaporitic o r saline sediments recrystallized under granulite-facies conditions du ring the Pan-African orogeny. These older evaporitic sediments suggest a pre-Pan-African epicontinental sedimentation on the northern margin of the Congo craton.
