Jb. Diez et al., FIRST DISCOVERY OF AN ANISIAN PALAEOFLORA IN THE BUNTSANDSTEIN FACIESFROM THE NORTHERN ARAGONIAN BRANCH OF THE IBERIAN RANGE (SPAIN), Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 323(4), 1996, pp. 341-347
The description of an Anisian palaeoflora (macro- and microflora) in t
he Buntsandstein facies of the Iberian Cordillera Aragonian branch (Sp
ain) represents the first precise dating for a formation previously co
nsidered as undifferentiated ''Permo-Triassic'' in the absence of any
biostratigraphic data. Chronological and palaeogeographical implicatio
ns of this discovery are analyzed.
