Abstract
Dermal plates of a large eubrachythoracid arthrodire (Placodermi, Vert ebrata), provisionally referred to a dunkleosteid, are recorded from t he detrital facies of the Famennian Colpacucho Formation, in the Cuman a Peninsula (Lake Titicaca, Bolivia). This is the first occurrence of arthrodires in the Devonian of South America. These arthrodire plates are found in association with a large chondrichthyan spine which recal ls some of the Famennian and Early Carboniferous species of ''Ctenacan thus''.
