We study, via an exact self-consistent recursion method, the effect of
random interchain hoppings on the electronic transmission through two
chains with common collecting electrodes at their ends. Each of the c
hains may be pure or doped with random impurity dimers. The interchain
couplings are random in both strength and position. The results show
that although the increase of the strength of the random interchain co
uplings causes the decrease of the transmission, the increase of the c
oupling density of the system may first decrease and then increase the
transmission. A new type of coherent disorder in interchain couplings
is proposed which can enhance the transmission coefficient remarkably
. Our results may shed light on the understanding of the transport pro
perties in the fibril-form polymers.
