The intensity distributions of some transitions belonging to the iron-
group elements have been analyzed in the framework of unresolved trans
ition array theory. More specifically, the transitions of the types l(
N)(alpha(c)L(c)S(c))l'-l(N)(alpha(c)L(c)S(c))l'' and l(N)(alpha(c)L(c)
S(c))s(alpha(c)L(c) Sigma(c))l''-l(N)(alpha(c)L(c)S(c))s(alpha(c)L(c)
Sigma(c))l'' (l',l''greater than or equal to 4) have been considered.
The possibility to characterize these transitions by the first weighte
d moments of their wavenumber distributions is clearly demonstrated.
