L. Kuang et al., STUDY ON THE SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTY DIFFERENCES OF 2 KINDS OF TERMINATED POLY(PHENYLENE SULFIDE) OLIGOMERS, European Polymer Journal, 32(12), 1996, pp. 1371-1375
Chloro terminated poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) oligomers and mercapto
terminated PPS oligomers have been synthesized separately by changing
the molar ratio of p-dichlorobenzene and sodium sulfide, and characte
rized by FT-IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and
thermogravimetric analysis. The effects of terminal groups upon the o
ligomer's structure and properties have also been studied. The results
show that the PPS oligomers with terminal chloro groups have a higher
molecular weight, more crystallinity and better thermal stability com
pared with PPS oligomers with terminal mercapto groups. Copyright (C)
