Abstract
Reaction of 2-tert-butylsulfanyl-3-phenylcyclopropenethione 1 with phe nyllithium, followed by treatment with aqueous ammonium chloride or an excess of methyl iodide, gave tert-butyl 3,3-diphenylpropenedithioate 2, of which the structure was determined by an X-ray structure analys is, or -butylsulfanyl-1-methylsulfanyl-3,3-diphenylallene 3, respectiv ely, both in high yields.
