Abstract
Four cyclic acetals (1-4) hearing free carboxy groups have been prepar ed: of these, three (1, 3 and 4) do not hydrolyse in solution, but rel ease aldehydes in a stream of moist air, while a fourth (2) affords a slow release of aldehyde both in solution and in contact with moist ai r.
