Binuclear palladium(II) complexes of the type [Pd2Cl2(mu-ER') (mu-pz)(
PR(3))(2)] (E = Se or Te; R'-Et, Ph, C(6)H(4)OMe-p or C(6)H(4)OEt-p; P
R(3) = PEt(3), PBu(3) or PMe(2)Ph) have been prepared and characterize
d by elemental analysis, P-31 and H-1 NMR data and, in the case of [Pd
2Cl2(mu-SePh)(mu-pz) (PBu(3))(2)], by single-crystal X-ray diffraction
methods which show that the complex has a sym-cis configuration with
the phosphine ligands trans to the bridging pyrazolato group.
