In this paper, a Langevin equation is used for a chaotic system near t
he synchronization transition. By mapping the motion of the driven sys
tem to a random walk, the universal - 3/2 power law is obtained. It is
also shown that the occurrence of on-off intermittency is a common fe
ature of this transition. The numerical study on chaotically driven Du
ffing oscillators provides clear evidence to support this theoretical
investigation.
