Dielectric losses were measured at temperatures from -120 to 70 degree
s C and frequencies from 10(3) to 10(6) Hz in mixtures of cellulose wi
th urea, which were prepared by various methods. Analysis of the param
eters of dielectric relaxation processes indicates the formation of H-
bond complexes between urea molecules and primary hydroxy groups of ce
llulose. Such complex formation changes the type of hydrogen bonds and
several properties connected with them, for example, the solubility.
