Abstract
The whole plant of Elephantopus scaber afforded the known deoxyelephan topin and isodeoxyelephantopin, and a new germacranolide sesquiterpene lactone named scabertopin, whose structure and stereochemistry were d etermined by spectroscopic methods and single-crystal X-ray analysis.
