The room-temperature tensile static and fatigue properties of a coated
two-dimensional carbon-carbon composite laminate are reported. The cr
oss-ply laminate is made of 8HS balanced weave of T300 heat treated ca
rbon fibers with a CVI densified inhibited carbon matrix. The fatigue
properties are obtained for four different stress levels, The in-plane
stiffness and strength degradation due to fatigue and fatigue hfe are
obtained at these lour stress levels. The effect of the fatigue loadi
ng on the matrix properties is determined by measuring the interlamina
r tensile strength for two different fatigue stress revels. The coatin
g interface tensile strength degradation due to the fatigue loading is
also reported.
